I was in the hospital, so I missed this news. I used to check out this one through my local library (digital version) and discovered it ceased publication with the March 2021 issue. I did not buy the paper version often, but I did buy several of the Magbook versions that had the best articles from the mag.

Sad really that we are probably going to loose most of the magazines. I just cannot see how they can survive in the digital era. It will be online YouTube type stuff from now on, and probably a lot of really poor reporting. I’m guilty of not buying mags, haven’t done for a few years and never bought a newspaper in my life. I used to subscribe to a couple of non photography magazines but let those lapse as they just begins recycling old articles over and over. I suppose it is the same with any hobby like ours, how many articles on exposure can you have? So they rely on new buyers but the younger generation just are not interested to m the format of print. Digits SLR Photography mag, like many others, simply put the printed mag online. They didn’t embrace multimedia and everything it could offer.

Protecting copyrights for digital content seems to be impossible. Digital rights management software seems to be subverted as soon as it is used. The problem is why most photographers refuse to upload their best images online or to keep the resolution low.
