NIKON Lenses - What would you say are the top models?

the voyager

Here a lot
I am saving to update my photo gear.

Looking at the 24-70 2.8 and the 70-200 2.8. lenses.

Are there any models like certain letter designated models or whatever be the case?

Any fatures on these lenses that come with some higer models than the ones I have stated?

Hope thisa makes sense.

I just want t make sure I am getting the best lenses I can.

The mkii 24-70 actually scores slightly lower on dxo optically than the mki but it's very close. The 70-200 has come in 4 or 5 flavours over the years and they are all optically very good indeed. There's some argument that there are a number of primes that are slightly better optically but the holy trinity (14-24, 24-70 & 70-200 f/2.8) of zooms are widely regarded as the best zooms that Nikon make.

Nice the HOLY TRINITY.. So MPB or WEX are the best bets second hand then? Do they go over each lens?
I think I'd definitley want VR tho, was that only on the mk2 versions?
