G'day all

Theft of any kind appals me - and to have a fellow Aussie stealing the creative works of others astounds me. I have also looked into the link attached to see references to my name-sake "Phil Jones - CEO The Societies of Photographers, BPPA Ltd, UK". I do not know this bloke, but commend his actions in this matter

Most of the big completions have their shake of faked photos and copyright issues in the last few years: WLPOT, Sony and HIPA etc.

Pretty disgusting behavour. Obviously not as bad as the sandpaper in the jocks incident as it hasn't made the television news broadcasts down here. Seems to be continuing a tradition of cheating. As a proud Australian, I'm ashamed :(.

I checked out her site and liked a couple of her shots, but didnt like most of them. She is more of a Photoshop manipulator than a photographer. Which is ok, as long as she is competing against other Photoshop artists and not against more purist Photographers. Some Photoshop is ok but it shouldnt be what makes the Photo. And in her case multiple photos to complete her work.

Personally I don't care.
When you get to certain point in any walk of life the power, adulation or money corrupts if you haven't the moral courage to stay straight.
It's only a photograph, not some poor kid getting stabbed in the street.
Anyway, competitions will do this to morons.
And I dislike the word 'purist' in any form of so called ART. It's what we enjoy that matters, what you use to get the result. Just being honest works......

Well apparently being dishonest works better..... until you get caught.
It only serves to those without a conscience.
I really don't understand cheating others in competitions. If one feels an achievement doing this then they don't really care about anything worthwhile in their life.
Can't imagine how these super star types feel when all the accolades are gone, be it 'going out of style' or in this case 'being found cheating'.

That was not the issue. The issue was she was not using her own photos to do it.
