Hi all-
Hope you're doing well!
Got to spend the weekend in the Smokies with the family (was very impressed with the cabin on a little creek as well) and took off early one morning for some photos. I was originally planning to drive through the park and stop at a popular overlook. However, as I was driving through, I saw a few other overlooks that caught my attention. I was racing the sunrise and of course (as it always seems to go) as I pulled up to my destination, it was a dud. All cloud, no sun- overcast and muted. I turned around as quickly as I arrived and raced back to another overlook a couple miles away. I got out and separated myself from the small gathering of other tourists. I framed up a composition and waited about 10 minutes until the sun crept over the ridge and blanketed the side of the mountain with a rose-gold light. I loved watching the cars drive through the scene and shot for about 30 minutes until the light faded. Overall, a peaceful morning with some fall colors.

Cheers,
Chris
