Hi Everyone!

I created this image several years ago, at the Northern Nevada Railway Museum. I shot it with a Holga 120n camera using Ilford FP-4 120 film. My wife, Trish was at the throttle, taking number 93 back to the barn...

Has your wife resumed conversation with you and allowing you to eat inside the house by now? I only ask since I could imagine that she might take umbrage at your comment that she "was at the throttle"... after all, as the engine driver she would be using the 'regulator' to get the locomotive moving, not into some kind of barn but of course to the 'Engine Shed'!!! ;-) All in jest, hope you both enjoy a happy and healthy new year 2022.

Not in essence Deon, it really was with humorous intent. Okay, it is a regulator and not a throttle, and I'd assume it was the engine shed, but I couldn't resist the attempt at English humour! ;-)

Absolutely no offence taken! I always enjoy a bit of English... No one used the term regulator or engine shed (deadman throttle and engine barn or shop used a lot), we have spent a lot of time at the Nevada Northern Railroad Museum in East Ely, Nevada, we once lived close by. The place offers amazing photographic opportunities on the 53 acre museum and miles of track, this has allowed us to spend some time in the cab with the engineer of the several steam and diesel engines they have at the museum (usually put to work doing something and not making photographs). I've never been the engineer on a steam locomotive, but I have been on several diesels. With some training you can rent these locomotives by the hour, we've been on several joy rides with friends over the years.
