Walking Football

Is there anyone else on here who plays. I started 4 weeks ago and I'm 68 and loving every minute of it, apart from a few injuries. The 2nd match I was tripped over and knocked a 70 year old flying and I fell onto to his knee and badly bruised two ribs, the 4th match I strained a calf muscle which is still sore now after a week.

I'd take up the more standard, running football if walking causes all those injuries Itd 3d Ani W60 Smiles 037

Our first sports session at secondary school was a 1 1/2 lecture on how important it was to exercise properly in our teenage years and develop muscles - sets us up for life. Good to read you're enjoying it and able to move around well. Never heard of walking football before.

Walking football is the fastest growing sport in the Uk at the moment. It s for people aged between 50years + . The basic rules are no running, no contact and keeping the ball below head height. The idea is for older people who love football but unable to play normal football, also rules are designed to reduce serious injuries and help with fitness..
