Had the wood burner going out back last night and thought these made interesting shots. Used my long macro lens to get right into the middle of the fire.

Excellent captures, Ryan. The first pops into my mind as a mini landscape, showing the gate to Hades.

Thanks Roger, with that one I liked how there was a void in the raging fire which frames the burnt stick of fire wood. Lots of angles and textures to bring out.

#1 is pretty "cool"!
I'll differ with Roger- as I think #3 looks like a gateway to me.

Hot tamales!

Thats really great! I can feel the heat looking at them  and look at them on a current nightly basis as wood is our heating here.

Thanks all, and @winchestergoose not sure what you mean, its a 600D(Rebel T3i) not a disposable or anything like that but I think there is probably more plastic than metal in the body.

lol, when I said my macro lens got me right in the fire I didn't men 'in the fire'

With the 150mm I can sit a foot or so back from the chimenea opening and snap in the equivalent of a hot summers day. I did forget to take off my flash diffusers though and they warped a tiny bit before I noticed but they are 3d printed and have a low melting point.

I'm not sure but I think he was referring to the heat having an effect on you cam . On that subject, they say don't point directly into the sun
due to possible sensor damage so I wonder if there is any danger in the glow of a fire being so close. Doubt it but you did a great job with these
and I would've burnt my fingers again.
