Hello Mike! Not easy ,this one. I refuse to give in though but just might have to travel for something.

Well I have been stuck in today so have messed about with one of my wife's figurines, not too happy with it though! See what you think.

What a great idea, Mike! Only a thought - not a criticism - I wonder if she was lit from the rear whether it might improve? The reason is because the background is lit from behind.

Although I have an idea (which means traveling) , I reckon I'll be seeking something from my wife's possessions - impossible task this week!

That is a good suggestion, thanks. It is hard to get everything right! I also have another idea but need to travel to it so it may not happen! If this week is impossible then how about the next one? I guess you might be OK with the wildlife you have around you.

My wife showed me iridescent this morning - I didn't know (apart from the back of a mallard's head)!!!

A tulip in full sun - it had a sort of sheen on it. Or have you silk ties? Or one of those suits that change colour?

I'm just hoping the tulip's out in some sun next week or I might be stuck. Off to find a swan this week if my wife's shoes (or something similar) doesn't work.

Week ending Friday 26th April has the theme "graceful" and the the next week (ending Friday 3rd May) is "iridescent". Edward and I were discussing the difficulty of the two themes.

Went out today looking for "graceful" around Teesside - I know, I know! This is the best I got and not a ballerina in sight!

Mucking about in my last post.

I do like this, Mike! A great idea there and I bet it's been described as graceful by a fair few people.

I also like the three "lead ins". The two jet skiers but also the woman is taking an interest and looking at it. (Something I've learned on the forum is that a lead in can be implied by a sign post or as here.)

Breathe a sigh of relief now you've got this one under your belt!

Actually it probably looks more graceful at night when it is illuminated - a bit like those Kris has posted of the Tyne bridges but not as spectacular.

I admire your modesty, Mike. I feel you're being too harsh with yourself. Your standard is very good and sometimes you manage to produce some outstanding images. We've had some difficult subjects but you've stuck it out and shown imagination. (I hope there's somebody else who can back me up with this!!)

I thought of those world famous vestas matches earlier but just spotted an ornament that looks the part. I can't find the comment (maybe on the last thread) but it's amazing how you can think of something when you're "up against it".

I looked at the ornament I mentioned above but then thought this might suit better. Not very "enterprising" or imaginative I'm afraid. (It's sitting on a glass shelf with a light underneath.) Roll on next week!

Sorry, I have just seen this one. I must have missed it when you first posted it. I like the effect of the underlighting although it is perhaps a bit too bright. The head looks strange, a;most as if have cut it out.It is always difficult to avoid a line between the horizontal and vertical surfaces unless you can bend a large enough piece of paper to hide it. Anyway that's the end of this theme!
