If you are using a blackened background you may not be seeing all the text*

Welcome to this week’s weekly challenge, the theme of which is ‘Windows'

*The rules of the competition are posted below*

Here are also the next four challenges in the Weekly challenge

20. Week end Friday 17th May 2019 Windows

21. Week end Friday 24th May 2019 Still Life

22. Week end Friday 31st May 2019 Soft

23. Week end Friday 6th June 2019 Fill the frame

The Weekly Challenge competition is a fun to enter weekly run thread where a new photographic subject is posted each Saturday and you have a week to complete the photographic theme, the closing date of which will be indicated in each weekly thread posted.

You are able to join in at any time during the year, just post into the thread to get started.

If you are not able to post in that week, it does not mean you cannot join in the following week.

We would encourage that people do try to get out to take a new photo for the theme in that week's challenge, but if you cannot get out to do the picture in that week, you can also post an image that is relevant from your archives

It is a fun competition, and there are no prizes, just a thread to get us out taking pictures. The competition runs for a year, and at the end of the year, it will start again with new themes.

info: a JOKER week is a subject that is suggested by a member of the forum

Old Hand
Venice Prison Windows by the Bridge of Sighs.

Bath Abbey.

Cambridge or Oxford. I can't remember. I have shots of both.

Room with a view.

Couldn't resist this one - I took it about 6 years ago (category was Windows) when I first joined the forum and took part in the 52 Challenge every week

Stone latticework windows from an ancient mosque in western India built in 1572 AD (posted earlier in City/street/architecture forum Jan 2019). #1 is known as Tree of Life.

Image is a bit dated, shot in 2016. This was from a palace in Rajasthan, India. Painting on the wall shows a woman holding the baby in her arms and the guy with a flower in his hand.

Around the same location

Well the saga of my patio windows installed six weeks ago, won't say by whom but think of a mountain. The next day after they had installed it, in the sunlight three of the four panels were scratched internally we noticed, so we called them back, and they agreed to replace three of the panels, but 6 weeks to make again. They came last thursday (it was gloomy and dull) and replaced them. About 30 mins after they left my wife noticed about 20 'hammer' marks on the aluminium frame (we had to have aluminium as the whole house is aluminium frames) on the outside of one of the window frames/panels, so they are coming back tomorrow to have a look. In the morning sunlight today, not visible in the gloomy weather when they put a new glass in last Thursday, we noticed all these scratches on the glass on one of the panels, now worse by far than the original scratches. Funny coincidence for the theme of this week's challenge, but my wife didn't see any humour in it :)

How much is that doggie in the window? :)

The 52 has certainly picked up in popularity, hasn't it?
