Up early-ish again this morning. Conditions very similar to yesterday so went for a wander to the old oaks a couple of minutes walk along the road.
I've processed these quite dark and extensively (can you tell....lol) for a painterly mysterious mood. I've never really cared much for reality, it's often dull and boring so do like to make these kind of pictures that almost don't look like photographs.
I did take some wider mountain photographs but they do absolutely nothing for me now. Much prefer taking the small intimate shot, find it much more rewarding and satisfying.

The mist was very thick, too thick at times and the light very brief but still an immensely enjoyable morning to be wandering around.

Beautiful pics! Love the tones and mood. Expecting to see some goblins hiding somewhere.

Think I prefer the wider version of the one above.

Lovely set Scott, it's amazing how with everything that's going on in that last shot that actually it's all about that tiny silver birch in the centre. Very cool indeed.

Thanks again folks. Appreciated.

Thanks Barry. Think the wider last shot is my favourite from the group. Glad you recognised the importance of the little silver birch. To me it's looks like a youngster being singled out or chastised by the older bigger group behind. In my head anyway....lol.

Another cracking set - the first for me by some way, I think: gives me feelings of isolation and contentment (a bit weird for being lost in the mist but...) I also love the wide-angle of the birch - the surrounding trees have given it a great backdrop.

Excellent set. The processing combined with the fog makes it nice and moody.

You created a great set of photographs, thank you for posting.
I do have a question for you. How do you keep your lens from fogging on misty days?

Sorry, thought I'd already replied to your question.
I honestly never have any issues with lenses fogging up. Remember it happening maybe once or twice in extreme cold conditions but apart from that it's never a problem.

The only time you really get problems is on a cold day with changing temperatures and humidity levels and even then its normally only in the dark. For those conditions I have a velcro usb lens heater but I used to use foot warmer pads rubber banded around the lens too warm it gently.

Had this problem several times and as said its due to temperature differences. In my case its been when out camping and moving the camera from a cold overnight environment into the sun. In this case its the rear element of the lens that fogs over, so I remove the lens and hold the rear element to the sun which clears the fog in about a minute. Of course thats only possible if you have the sun out and we usually have plenty of that.

Alas I own a non-exchangeab.e lens camera and I too was camping in the fall of the year when I experienced the fogging/condensation on the lens. Fall is my most favorite time to camp and enjoy the color. Thanks for all the input

A super set...I especially like those where there is the combination of warm sunlight breaking through and the heavy mist all around.....I agree reality can be a bit boring, photography as art is about making great images not just documenting the facts .....I prefer the wider angle version of the last of the set.
